On the morning of Sunday, 18 May, the crew of the Pegaso 2 helicopter, operated by Avincis on behalf of the Tuscany Region, successfully completed a particularly complex rescue operation along the rocky coastline of Punta Polveraia, on Elba Island.

Due to the area’s challenging terrain—a stretch of cliffs with rock formations directly overlooking the sea—the AW139 helicopter had to perform a technical landing directly on the rocks, allowing medical personnel to assist a tourist who had suffered a serious medical emergency in a location that was difficult to reach by land.

Thanks to the outstanding training and composure of the crew—comprising pilots, hoist operators, and highly qualified medical staff—the mission was completed successfully.
