Europe’s first female Canadair captain reflects on an exceptionally intense wildfire season
Avincis Captain Marina Noberasco, the first female Canadair Captain in Europe, joined Rai Uno Mattina to share her story and talk about an exceptionally intense wildfire season.
8,000 flight hours: from June to mid-September, Avincis Canadair crews operated at an unprecedented pace, often reaching the maximum six hours of flight time per day.
Precision under pressure: flying over a wildfire requires focus, precision and preparation. As Marina explained, hours of training, simulations and procedures enable crews to manage pressure and make the right decisions in challenging conditions.
A powerful reminder of the people and expertise behind every firefighting mission.
