Our air ambulance aeroplane services are supported by 13 Beechcraft King Air 250, which we deploy in both Norway and Spain where its adaptability really comes into its own. One of its standout features is the ability to operate from short or less-than-perfect runways – as little as 800 metres, depending on conditions. A major advantage when flying into remote or challenging locations. Its spacious cabin easily accommodates stretchers, medical teams, and life-support equipment.
A jewel in the crown of our air ambulance fleet is the Cessna 680 Citation Latitude – we operate two from our Tromsø and Oslo bases in Norway. Although known for private or business travel, it has an alternative role as a long range emergency medical services aeroplane thanks to its wide cabin (1.83 metres across) which can accommodate two stretcher patients along with medical personnel and advanced life-support systems; and its wide doors, allowing easy loading of stretchers and medical equipment.
The aircraft’s ability to operate from smaller airports, also enables rapid transport of critically ill patients to specialised facilities, even from remote areas with runways as short as 1,091 metres.
