On 16 April 2026, KN Helicopters received an urgent request from SDK Shipping A/S to support a critical cargo transfer to a large commercial vessel transiting through the North Sea en route to Norway. The ship required an essential engine spare part to maintain operational continuity, making time and precision critical.

Given the vessel’s offshore location and continuous movement at sea, an aerial solution was identified as the fastest and safest method of delivery. Detailed planning was undertaken to account for weather conditions, vessel motion and operational safety.

On 17 April 2026, KN Helicopters A/S deployed our H135 helicopter equipped with hoist capabilities to execute the mission. Throughout the two-hour operation, the experienced flight crew maintained direct communication with the ship’s team, enabling a controlled and precisely timed hoist despite the vessel’s forward movement.

Thanks to accurate flying, clear communication and seamless teamwork, the spare part was delivered safely and efficiently onto the deck. The operation was completed without incident, allowing the ship to continue its voyage as planned.
